The UM3D Lab is accessible from the diamond shaped Central Collaboration area in the middle of the first floor of the Duderstadt Center.

If entering from Pierpoint Commons, walk past the information desk which is located under the escalators and elevator. This will bring you to the central collaboration area. The UM3D Lab will be located through the large glass doors on your far left.

If approaching from Bonisteel Blvd., continue straight until reaching the central collaboration area. The UM3D Lab will be on your far right through the glass doors.

If you have difficulty locating the lab, feel free to contact us or ask the information desk for help.

Campus Map & Parking

The University of Michigan 3D Lab is located in the Duderstadt Center on North Campus. For those unfamiliar with the building we are located next to the Pierpont Commons. The map to the left shows parking around the Duderstadt Center.
Blue = Parking for Blue Pass holders
Red = Public meter parking

Parking at NC27 is a great location for public visitors. If parking in NC43, climb up the stairs at the back of the parking lot and cut through the Art & Architecture Building. It is the most direct route to the Duderstadt Center and you can see some artwork on the way.


Driving Directions

The 3D Lab is located in the Duderstadt Center, 2281 Bonisteel Boulevard, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

From Detroit Metro Airport, Detroit, and Windsor, Canada

  • Take I-94 West (towards Chicago)
  • Stay on I-94 for approximately 20 miles (measured from Metro Airport)
  • Take US 23 North (towards Ann Arbor and Flint)
  • Exit US 23 at Plymouth Road (Exit 41)
  • Turn left (West) on Plymouth Road (towards Ann Arbor)
  • After approximately 2 miles, turn left (South) into Murfin Avenue
  • Just before reaching Bonisteel Boulevard, turn left into circular drive at Pierpont Commons
  • Park in Visitors Lot NC 27 behind Walgreen Drama Center
  • Walk up to the Duderstadt Center
  • In the lobby of the Duderstadt Center, ask at the information desk for the 3D Lab

From other directions

  • If you approach Ann Arbor via I-96, I-94, or M-14, always try to get on US 23 and exit US 23 at Plymouth Road (Exit 41)
  • Go West on Plymouth Road (towards Ann Arbor)
  • After approximately 2 miles, turn left (South) into Murfin Avenue
