After learning the EPOC hardware and getting a better understanding of it’s limitations we then brought what we learned into the MIDEN to see how a fully immersive, virtual reality experience influenced the EEG signals we were receiving. Once again we found ourselves using explicit motions such as smiling, raising eyebrows, etc. This gave us far more predictable results. However, we found that the EPOC was still a little cumbersome to use in this manner as you can see in the video.
Others are now working with our group to test the feasibility of using the EPOC to measure user qualities as they are bombarded with stimuli in he MIDEN.
